Meeting WG2 at IAP: Nov 28th - Dec 1st
Please register to the WG2 (Component Separation) meeting. It will be held in the Planck room at IAP from Monday October 28th till Thursday December 1st.
About 1.5 days (from monday noon to tuesday afternoon) common to WG2, will be dedicated to
reviewing the present status of ancillary data
reviewing the present sky model and available simulation tools (and in particular the
status of the "reference sky model"
general review of existing component separation methods
agreeing on the strategy for future work.
In particular, we should now start to take into account the fact that when Planck data is available, we will have ancillary data and models, and will have to use them in component separation (and not try solely to separate components from Planck data only). This impacts the activity in the above three main areas of activity of our WG.
Then 2.5 days will be specific to the development and testing of component separation methods, with objectives as follows
strategy for comparison of various methods in different cases
review the performance/adequation of existing methods for real data (when used on such data)
strategy for developing polarisation component separation
hands-on
Please specify in the comments section of the registration form if you plan to attend to the first part of the meeting described above, to the second part or to both
